Phonics Awareness
Today, we learned the “I Have the Whole Alphabet in My Mouth” song. Then, we practiced writing the capital letter “A” and the lower case letter “a.” Students also glued pompom balls on paper to make the letter “A” and “a.” Creating the letter "A" in multiple ways helps with their writing skills.

Special Activity
For special activity today, the students also learned about Terry Fox, the inspirational Canadian runner who ran across Canada to raise money for cancer research. This young man lost his leg to cancer at the age of 18, and decided to run across the nation with a prosthetic leg to raise cancer awareness. The students watched a slideshow and two videos about Terry Fox’s life and legacy. Next week, as a Canadian tradition, Raven class and other CBIS students will do the Terry Fox run at school to continue Terry Fox’s legacy and raise cancer awareness.
